Congratulations to Ruijuan and Jiangyong on successfully defending their respective PhD theses (December 4)!

We sincerely thank the committee members—Professor Zhongkun Hu, Yanting Zhao, Yanhong Xiao, Xiaopeng Li, 

and Lei Feng—for their time, insightful questions, and valuable suggestions.

Ruijuan and Jiangyong joined our group in the same year but pursued distinct research paths.

Ruijuan’s work is remarkably diverse. She developed new acousto-optical techniques and pioneered 

sophisticated methods for rapidly controlling atoms at nanoscale distances.

Jiangyong, in contrast, has been laser-focused on perfecting matter-wave control using shaped nanosecond pulses.

Both have made significant contributions to our group and, we hope, to their respective fields. 

As they move on to the next stages of their careers, we wish them every success.
